尊敬的王娅辉主席、尊敬的加拿大金枫叶国际电影节组委会、尊敬的电影节评委们：
我的纪录片《脊柱医生》荣幸地入围加拿大金枫叶国际电影节，至此我们荣耀成为金枫叶大家庭成员，非常感谢！由于时间关系，很遗憾我们没能参加电影节，但那几日温哥华电影人盛宴时，我们的心也随着而去，关注它的进程，关注它的成果，关注中国影片在金枫叶的展露和斩获。相信每一位与金枫叶有缘的人，都能体会到我们的心情。
近年很多国际电影节专门辟出“中国专题”，架起中外电影文化相互传播、深度合作的桥梁，加拿大金枫叶国际电影节无疑是其中的深度开掘者：不仅为中国电影走出国门和西方电影植入中国元素牵线搭桥，而且实现官方合作共同打造“中国电影国际化”传播平台，尤其在让世界通过电影了解中国方面，做出的努力和成就，都是极大的！
作为入围电影节的影片主创成员，我们由衷地感谢金枫叶电影节对中国影片、尤其是纪录片的表彰，感谢王娅辉主席为此付出的努力和辛劳！感谢众多评委对中国纪录片的喜爱和推崇。说实话，拍摄纪录片并不赚钱，甚至搭进多年精力、财力和血汗，这是我们从踏上这条道路时就知道的结果。如果不是因为情怀和理想，很多人怕是难以坚持下来。但也就是这种坚守，我们在拍摄中成长了起来，经历也变成了难忘的脚印，对世界、国家、集体、社会、人物和人生，都有了切肤认识。我们相信，这个世界并不完美，但我们和我们拍摄的人物，经历过生活凌厉，依然内心向暖，砥砺而行，不会停下脚步。所以当我们接到金枫叶电影节入围通知书时，才有那么深的感慨：这个世界正在用各种方式----奖励认真做事、把事情做好的人！ 这个荣誉，将鼓励我们---继续在路上！
值此金枫叶电影节举办成功之际，再次由衷地感谢电影节组委会！感谢王娅辉主席！感谢所有付出辛劳把我们的影片从大海中捞出来的评委们！祝贺本届电影节圆满成功！并将一届一届举办下去，通过中加两国电影人努力，为世界电影繁荣做出贡献！

About the documentary“Chinese Backbone Doctors”
一、内容简介Film content introduction
北京医生刘海鹰经常自掏腰包救助看不起病的脊柱畸形病人，长期如此难以为继。2011年秋季，他用治愈病人和家属捐助的善款作启动资金，成立了一个基金会来解决问题。结果，慈善工程让他走上了一条艰难的不归路。
当下中国正在经历巨大的社会变革，理想和现实的碰撞中，每人都面临人生选择。影片以敬重的目光回望时代背景下这个独特的医生群体，平实地纪录了一位中国医生竭力释放自身能量温暖他人的艰难旅程，透出一代专业精英经历着踉跄人生，依然坚守初心、坚韧向暖的精神世界。
Beijing doctor Haiying Liu often pays out of his own pocket to help impoverished rachiterata patients who cannot afford the treatment. But this help cannot sustain for a long time. In autumn 2011, he established a foundation to solve the problem with the appreciation money given by patients whom he had treated and recovered and by their family members. In this way, the charity project leads him to a journey of no return.
China is undergoing dramatic changes. Everyone is faced with difficult choices between hopes and reality. The film records with admiralty a special team of Chinese doctors under this social background and shows the difficult journey of a Chinese backbone doctor who tries his best to help every patient. Despite the obstacles, the elite doctor sticks to his dream and makes contribution to this world in his every possible way.
二、创作背景Background
2011年开始，我自费跟踪拍摄刘海鹰医生的基金会救助项目。仅仅几年时间，眼见镜头里的他一步步苍老起来，脸上写满了纠结和疲惫，但依然撑着一股劲儿站在手术台上。他是在医生职业被崇敬的八十年代确立学医志愿的，至今三十多年过去，世界变了，同行转道的人越来越多，他却依然着魔于手术台，享受着病人对他的需要和尊敬。
这个世界还有很多像他这样的人，散落在社会各行业、各角落，为着一份初心，守着一份信念。为这些人留下一份精神境况备忘，是我们跟拍几年中逐渐形成的想法。我们想用一种敬重的目光回去看看他们，同时想让更多的人去关怀、关注他们。他们仍然在路上，踉跄而行，用我们社会最需要的德行：专注和匠心，生产着人类最珍贵的产品：生命（命运）！
这是导演的第一部纪录片长片，跟踪5年拍摄、后期制作1年完成。
From 2011, I followed and shot the work of the foundation established by Liu Haiying, financing the shooting myself. The short time of just a few years has witnessed the doctor in my lenses turning old, struggling and fatigue written on his face, but he still relies on his strength to stand by the operation platform. He made the decision to dedicate himself to the medical science in the 1980s when the profession of a medical doctor was highly respected. Since then, 30 years has passed and the world has changed, and more and more former doctor colleagues have change to work in other jobs, only he still remains at and engaged in operation bed, enjoying the need and respect of his patients.
There are many people like him in this world, who are scattered in all walks of life, at various corners, working for their initial goals, guarding their beliefs. To keep a memo of their spiritual condition for these people is a thought formed gradually as we tracked the doctor in the past few years. We would like to pay a visit to them in retrospect with an admiring and respectful eye; meanwhile, we hope more people may care for and pay attention to them. They are still on the road, teetering, with the most needed virtue in the society: focus and craftsmanship, producing the most precious product of mankind: life (fate)!
This is the virgin work of the director, a feature-length documentary, with 5 years spent in following and shooting and 1 year in post-production.

四、主创简介Profiles of key authors
1、导演Director
韩靖媛，女，本片导演、制片人。以前供职中国某IT媒体，主任记者职称，经济学研究生。曾进修于北京电影学院、北京大学、北京师范大学等。这是导演的第一部纪录片长片，跟踪5年拍成。
Jingyuan Han is the director and producer of this film. She used to work for an IT medium of China, with the professional rank of Senior Reporter. She has a master’s degree in Economics. She took courses in Beijing Film Academy, Peking University,Beijing Normal University, etc. This is the virgin work of the director, a feature-length documentary, with 5 years spent in following and shooting.
2、剪辑Film Editors
胡树真，女，2011-2012年就读于北京电影学院导演进修班，毕业后跟组及后期，剪辑过多部不同类型院线电影，现为北京电影学院导演系研究生在读。

Hu Shuzhen is the editor of the film，She once studied in 2011-2012 took Film Director Training Course at Beijing Film Academy. Upon graduation, she followed film crews and post-production teams, edited various types of films for different theatre chains and cooperated very well with different departments and teams both from home and abroad.
Currently a graduate student, she is studying for her master’s degree in the Department of Film Directing at Beijing Film Academy.
